The upward prices for hot dip galvanised coils, seen on past months has finished too.

Spot operations slowed, amidst a resistance to place long term transactions.
All the purchase operations ordered at the end of 2016/Beginning 2017, at the moment, are arriving to clients’ warehouses.

Steel producers from third countries (the ones that are unaffected by UE antidumping duties) are making interesting offers to European customers. The recent strengthening of the euro currency is helping to made overseas offers more interesting.

Germany
Domestic steel consumption is robust, in Germany. However standard sizes and grades, from sources coming from India, Taiwan, Vietnam, South Korea even Russia are flooding the market. It mean that the upward prices momentum since few months ago, has been reversed.

Spain
Spanish sales prices are falling sharply, despite the country growing.
The belief of a negative price trend, is making the clients to keep hold purchase orders, up to see more light, in standby mode.
